Re: Judging a dogs nose

If you find a track and you have a relative idea on the age of the track you can determine how cold of a nose your dog has. If only one dog in your pack is trailing the track then obviously he has a colder nose than the rest of your pack

Whether a collar is 1 11 21 31 41 you can only track one collar ending in 1. Each one of your 10 callers is the same way only one can end in any of the numbers 0 through 9 whet...

Re: Training a mule

I agree on the training but I would stick with a mule specific trainer like Brad Cameron or Ty Evans (tsmules.com) if you're going that route.

Re: Training a mule

If you train him to tie and stand for 30 minutes to an hour he will teach himself not to pull against the lead rope and you'll save yourself a bunch of time and frustration

Re: Trtronics problems

Your controller has a short. Had one do that. On the tone set the noise is more of a buzz and shocks the dogs. Sometimes replacing the battery will fix the problem in my case it did not

Re: go pros on dogs

Dean fabricated his own attached to a dc30 collar. Houndseye currently markets and sells a vest with camera for hounds too. The videos I've seen the biggest issue seems to be moisture on the lens. Saving my pennies to give a one a try.

Re: Lion hounds for Patagonia

not knowing your conditions, I would try to buy hounds from an area similar to where your at. if you aren't running Lion in snow you probably do not want a snow dog. it may save you some money in the long run to come and try the dog here in the US before spending the money to import it. JMO
