Re: rivers and shelf ice

Yes, I'd rather worry about anything but wolves, not sure I could ever live somewhere that has a big population of them. That said, people turn loose lot's of dogs in country where there are wolves (people I even personally know) but I don't know anyone that *knowingly* would turn loose in a current...

Re: rivers and shelf ice

Yep Merlo, apparently I am not possessed of much ego either. My hunts are a more personal thing and I'm surely not a person that needs to tell others about what I have been catching to make it feel complete (I am not a competitive person either). Yes, obviously no one knows what is going to happen w...

Re: robin is treed!

Nice to see the 'oddball' dog out there, haha, but cool, one of these days I'm going to get this new life handled and finally be ready for pups again and I'll need something to breed my youngest female to so I enjoy hearing about him. How many people have hunted so far anyway? Sorry I hadn't been ke...

Re: catching on the ground

I hate that this is the only thing I'm going to add to this conversation... BUT, when we were fighting SB1221 here in California, just a year or two ago, we just about had it beat until the day the AR's showed photos of dogs killing a cat on the ground. Not to mention the video of dogs pulling a wou...

Re: Future bluetick pups

Look up Jim Bartley on the UK board, there is another guy that has a dog mosquito creek something, bred a lot like my Anderson dogs...they are both east coast.

Re: Bluetick on cats

I have some older uchtman x hammer that have done good for me, added some old smokey river via Buzz Anderson and the results are pretty nice.

Re: Pack of all females.

I'm working my way towards all females, I used to like male dogs better but the years have passed and I'm tired of dogs that piss on things, real tired of it, there is no benefit to a male over a female, good dogs are good dogs. I have had dogs of both sexes that I like bunches but all my males are ...

Re: Dogs Caught in Snares

Alex don't kid yourself - those things (and snares) are set LOTS of places in California, and mostly by state and federal trappers. If you go to a new public place it pays to look around a bit, if you hunt private always ask if they let anyone trap and that they need to let you know if they have som...

Re: Let's whip a dead horse

I feed Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete and Costco Chicken and Rice (which is actually Diamond Naturals C&R - just cheaper it also has a decent rating on all the dog food websites). I can NOT feed my dogs regular Diamond, they would shit themselves to death but the Naturals line seems to work fo...

Re: Grey fox dogs

I think the simplest answer I give people for this type of question is 'if a dog can't smell the difference between similar species then how can they tell the difference between different dogs/humans etc.?', I mean we ALL know they can do that, if a dog can be trained to detect cancer cells in a uri...
