Re: Given up on Facebook

Facebook is like most of the internet. Full of misinformation and stupidity. It has only reinforced two things. If someone is recording you stop what ever you are doing and immediately leave the area. If you have no idea what your talking about stop talking. You follow those two rules you may mainta...

Re: Issues on track

If he is leaving it at the tree thats a different issue from quiting a track or not being confident enough to keep working it. Figure out which issue it is. Try daytime hunting for awhile and stay close enough to observe the dog

Re: Majestic information

Well. First ive seen some successful coon hounds with a high percentage of bloodhound. And some lion hounds. I have heard that in the northeast slower track dogs work for their method of bobcat hunting. But in most of the areas ive hunted bobcats have to be trailed at agood pace or the scent dies to...

Re: Arizona HSUS going after Lion and Bobcat

This shit is all hsus. So unless a "group" is willing to take the lead and start lawsuits against them there is going to be a whole lot less hunting in the state of az. Just like theyve done everywhere else. Its a sad fact they are far more successful with their shit in the western states ...

Re: Red fox

Ve never seen a red here or in mexico where i do most of my hunting it was just a observation the other night coming home we jumped a desert fox and i ran him aways on horseback watching how he actually ran. Being a fox it made me think back over the years to different foxes and how they differ. As ...

Red fox

I havent run a red fox in many years and even then it was accidental. I dont remember those chases very clearly so far as specifics go. However my impression was more open ground running and a more straight forward race similar to coyote. Anyway i have a two part question for anyone who runs them. H...

Re: Feet - what's the issue ?

Speed as a bit to do with it. However only on a scale mileage and terrain will lower the speed required substantially. But like was said hunt your dogs day in and out for a month and you will learn more about your dogs then hunting weekends for years. I know most people dont have the time to do this...

Re: Squatting

Bobcats in particular. I havent seen a lion take it to that extreme but they do deflate and slip off given the chance. Other cat species seem more excitable.

Re: Feet - what's the issue ?

Well it is simple. We have big egos and no patience. So if the two hardest hunting dogs of the dozen or so you hunt with have poor feet or conformation it gets overlooked and like i pointed out it can be hell to breed out once its established. But some terrain just wont let you run dogs with weak fe...

Re: Squatting

Ive had them squat and run in small areas. But the fact i could have booted either of these before they moved got me to wondering how tight they might hold for dogs. It seems they might try holding til the last second more often then we think.
