Re: URE and Ida

I am conflicted. I'd love Don to win but; I don't want mark to win anything. He has do damn much money as it is. I just want him to represent tree dogs that is it!

Re: Rodney and Thomas

Brad thanks for a great weekend. I enjoyed every minute of it, we had all the chances we needed and came up short. But we gave it hell and had a good time doing it!

Re: Rodney and Thomas

She had a shot at the cat on the jump but made a lose that costed her the race just above the road. We seen the cat hit the road a run down it a ways and shoot off. She never could take it on the other side of road.

Re: you dirt hunters, a question

I agree, with both statements. Al, I was just pointing out that conditions can be good in bare conditions and poor in snow. Each presents different challenges and the handler plays a role in putting the odds in their favor. I was not specifically referring to the original post.

Re: you dirt hunters, a question

I have talked to a few people and i think i am not making the point i was trying to. So, ill try again. Snow can change drastically from 500 feet change in elevation say i start a track at 4500 feet and trail it down in to less snow or a warmer temperature this all changes the conditions of the scen...

Re: you dirt hunters, a question

Flop, great comments. Conditions effect dogs more than we can put into words. I too have felt that a cat jumped in favorable "dry" conditions seem to be better than anything on a JUMPED race, including snow. Snow seems to put a kink in their that is not present during bare ground conditions.

Re: cold trail or jump?

I have never had a problem beyond concern on jumps. Even with some coon dog bred dogs. Once they had adequate experience running cats. Best dog on jump is in fact my slowest dog.
