Re: How many have run one dog?

The world record lion was caught by one bluetick looking dog by an older man from Idaho, not sure if it's still the record, most of the time there is not much to worry about but sooner or later it will happen when either you run in to a bad lion or just the wrong situation and things go bad, most of...

Re: Utah hound

Ask to give trial on the dog, I know he has some good dogs and can catch lion other than that I don't know but if a seller is not willing to give some kind of trial I would be cautious, I always give trial on my dogs when selling them, a pup is different but it's good to find out as much about paren...

Nothing better than a sheep camp! just use your head on how to take care of dogs, depends on different times of year and weather conditions.

Re: buying new guns, whats your favorite

I have a Rem. 700 sendero in 7mm rem mag, in my opinion its the best factory gun and caliber you can get for long range hunting and shooting, if you want better you need to go custom built, and still 7mm rem mag is still top of list, just my opinion.

Re: Bad Habits!

Mark, I don't think think it's old or lazy just plain common sense, and I agree with you, I would like to call it wisdom when we get up in years for most, but sometimes I wounder about myself, but I would rather depend on my dogs not them depend on me.

Re: Rifle caliber

I like to pack a handgun, lion hunting terrain is not always the best or is the weather, so I like to have my hands free and not have to worry about a rifle snagging when going through trees and climbing through the rocks and ledges, most of the lions we've killed have been with a 22 or 22 mag handg...

Re: Utah guys

Here in So. Ut. it's getting alot harder to find a lion to run and I have run across more deer kills from cyotes than lions, I have thought for years that the biggest reason for low deer numbers is from over harvest, MONEY, just my 2 cents.

Re: Jeff Allen's Pepper dog? Nance breeding?

Re: hunting instincts hurt by castration

i see some good ideas, my thoughts are if a male dog would rather hunt than chase a female around then you have something and i wouldn't worry about fixing him unless he is mean or worried about females, i have only cut dogs that were mean and it fixed that, if he would rather follow a female around...
