Re: Canvas Wall Tents
We had an old army tent we used for deer camp. It was big and roomy. Then we downsize to a smaller white canvas tent. The white definitely saved $ on propane cuz in the green army tent we ran lanterns all day and night. We tarped the roof to hold the heat and make it easy to get the snow off. Dave w...

Re: help staring puppies
I never had deer dogs. It's illegal to run them here in MI. But I would try hunting other game with the pups. They always seem to run deer when you don't want them to. Then just praise them instead of breaking them off deer. But with any hunting dog they learn in the woods not a kennel. Good luck...

Re: Tracking blood or wounded deer
I think she's figuring out what's going on. She will bite at leaves, branches or blades of grass with blood on them. Nose to the ground on a blood drop. It's new to me as well. I just need more wounded deer to track but I'd rather run dogs than deer hunt. Yes mark keep us up on them pups. I'd like t...

I'm with smoking it all day with a dry rub and cloves of garlic inserted into the meat. Just like a pork loin.
I'm betting corning it would taste good too. But I've never tried that

Re: Tracking blood or wounded deer
Thanks for the replies fellas. I have squirrel hunted her 5 time since the deer tracking. She hasn't seem to mess with any deer. I do keep her on a lead when blood tracking. She usually has a ecollar when squirrel hunting if something changes her mind.. Mark do you think them labrahounds will make b...

Cocksucker101 obviously you cannot read or just don't understand what the words mean... unless this is the start of the outline on how to be an idiotic arshole. I'm in agreement with but you still act like a immature arshole. You're the best the and we don't deserve to breath your air.

Re: A treeing Border collie
We had a few English Shepherd that would hunt and tree coons and squirrel. Great hunting dogs. I think here in America we tend to only use dogs for 1 thing. Not the multipurpose dog of the early settlers. There's bird dogs, coon dogs, bear dogs, hog dogs and cat dogs, ect... what ever happened to th...

Re: Getting started on coon hunting
K _ Canterbury keep them dogs chasing stuff. They'll only get better. When them coon hole up for winter start check for bobcat tracks. The cats are more fun to chase than the ringtails. Best of luck to ya!

Tracking blood or wounded deer
Does anyone use their hunting dogs that are broke off deer to track a wounded deer? If so does the dog seen to want to run deer after tracking a wounded deer? I have used my laika (coon/squirrel dog) to track up a couple of deer for me after I shot them. The other night I'm pretty sure she was track...
