Re: PRICING A HOUND ?
Soooo, I decided to cat hunt without ever even hunting with a bobcat hunter or a bobcat dog. After two years of frustration and very little sucess I have come to realize that I do not have enought knowedlege or understanding of the task that I chose to do justice to even a talented young dog. There...

Re: Dog running called game
You know David, I never though about that. Having multiple species respond to the call simultaneously. Hahah, that would be a dang mess and you had better have a real honest dog. Lot of different fresh scent in an area, perfect storm. Your right as well David, deer will respond a lot to calls. Multi...

Re: She antler dogs
A while back I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with a lazy, un athletic bird dog. We became quite the pair and he learned to do many things. One of which was to fetch me an antler should he happen to come across one. As pup his chew toys were antlers and we would play games where I would ...

Re: Dog running called game
I used to do it with bobcat. I would go out and call predators (coyote coon fox bobcat...). If a bob would come into sight I wouldn't shoot and wait till it would leave, hopefully without spoking it. Then run home and get the dogs, and walk them into a what I figured was a pretty fresh bobcat track....

To answer your questions Perk, I'm gonna say yes and no. I have to assume at some point in time carpenters we're having this very conversation as power tools started to over come hand tools. I suppose you give a guy a radial arm saw, laser level, or nail gun he's gonna do better then he would have w...

Re: PRICING A HOUND ?
The problem with a good bull shi**er is that they can Bull sh*t them selves. And If there really good, they'll even believe there own bull sh*t.

A dog is only worth what some one is willing to pay for it. Not a red cent more or less.

Re: Pics, Vids, Stories, anything??
Manthat's neat that I had so much history in my kennel for a moment. That Boggs fella must of been a heck of a hounds man. I hear his name being brought up time after time. You know when I first got Carley and she was a pup I though she had the shoulders and chest of a male. I had to look twice make...

Re: Pics, Vids, Stories, anything??
Man that white chested red trigg you got in that pic there Andy is absolutely stunning. I love the way she looks. Nice looking dog. I had one once that kinda looked like her. I didn't get a chance to keep her very long before I had to move and sell out. If I ever get the chance to run dog again I'm ...

You don't half to be that fast if you are smart enough to figure out your angles. Pair that with a little grit and some persistence along with a decent set of wheeles and I'll buy it.

Re: Getting started on coon hunting
Hey man no problem. One last thing I think would help your traning a bunch. Take that shock collar and light yourself up with it on the throat. And do it on every level you plan on using on the dogs. Shock collars a one of the greatest inventions to hit the training world. But I sometimes wonder how...

Re: Getting started on coon hunting
Hey man, I didn't get a chance to read all the post. But I did get a chance to read the first few pages. Jeff and David give solid advice. You can't go wrong with mentors such as them greats. They are true houndsmen legends. Second, don't listen to that other guy. I grew up in Colorado and I have ye...
