Don't know anything about 430 but with 320 it has to be plugged into computer and recognized by computer. You also had to go to garmin website to activate the 1 year subscription and then download through the Basecamp program

You could run an amplified CB Radio and not affect your Garmin the frequency is over a hundred megahertz off. If you find a track and you have a relative idea on the age of the track you can determine how cold of a nose your dog has. If only one dog in your pack is trailing the track then obviously he has a colder nose than the rest of your pack

You basically have 10 available frequencies to track with the Astro 320. Each one of your collars will end in a number 0-9. I agree on the training but I would stick with a mule specific trainer like Brad Cameron or Ty Evans (tsmules.com) if you're going that route.

If you train him to tie and stand for 30 minutes to an hour he will teach himself not to pull against the lead rope and you'll save yourself a bunch of time and frustration

Your controller has a short. Had one do that. On the tone set the noise is more of a buzz and shocks the dogs. Sometimes replacing the battery will fix the problem in my case it did not
