Re: I Want a Mule

The other thing you have to watch for mules are different than horses as far as they think before they act that's where the stubbornness idea comes from. you can lead a horse through just about anything you want you have to let the mule think its his idea. Re: Garmin Astro 430

Don't know anything about 430 but with 320 it has to be plugged into computer and recognized by computer. You also had to go to garmin website to activate the 1 year subscription and then download through the Basecamp program

As far as the Telemetry antenna and a Garmin antenna no interference because they're both receiving not transmitting you'd be fine. As far as radio reception plane you want to try to put a c...

Re: Judging a dogs nose

If you find a track and you have a relative idea on the age of the track you can determine how cold of a nose your dog has. If only one dog in your pack is trailing the track then obviously he has a colder nose than the rest of your pack

Re: Training a mule

I agree on the training but I would stick with a mule specific trainer like Brad Cameron or Ty Evans (tsmules.com) if you're going that route.

Re: Training a mule

If you train him to tie and stand for 30 minutes to an hour he will teach himself not to pull against the lead rope and you'll save yourself a bunch of time and frustration

Re: Trtronics problems

Your controller has a short. Had one do that. On the tone set the noise is more of a buzz and shocks the dogs. Sometimes replacing the battery will fix the problem in my case it did not
