Ok I have got the dog down to a lab or a D.D and I know the idea is for them to find and bust up a flock of turkeys then come back and lay still until they are shot I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for training materials this would be my first bird dog

Turkey hunting dogs

Hey you all not to along ago they passed a law to let dogs be used for hunting turkey in the fall season I know that there is a lot of places were it would still be agest the laws to use dogs but if anyone is were they can do it do you know any books or anything about training a dog for it

I got a pair of treeing Walker's for coon and squirrel hunting but what we don't have much of is running bay dogs for fox and coyote mostly but two since turkey hunting with dogs is legal it something I have wanted to try

Well I don't know for sure but one of the guys I talked with on another forum said he hunting his regale on coon fox bobcat and coyote with no more than two of them catching most of the time

Well I was thinking that the problem with the sights hounds was around here we don't have a lot of open space with a hundred yards being a log one I did not know if the fastest ones like the greyhounds could cover ground fast enough to be on one in that short of range but if some of them can work a ...

Cool to know if what I have read that a lot of guys use cur dogs because they run a lot quieter than a hound so they can get close and bay faster than a hound

I was wondering if any of you might have a idea of any kind of dog that could work as a catch dog for fox and coyote the idea I had was one or two dogs that could catch a fox or coyote coming in to bait or a game call me reason was it would be better to have a catch dog to put one down or the animal...
