Re: Petition To Ban Lion and Bobcat Hunting In Arizona
If you are asking me about PETA vegans, I have no idea what you are talking about. Care to explain this? Why are you interested in them specifically? Is that who you came here to look for? I'm asking you about this because I cannot relate to evasive communication styles but based upon the swirl of i...

Re: excessive itching, loosing hair and major weight loss?
I wondered about that as well. He didn't mention odor which from a houndsman might not think its something worth mentioning with yard dogs (meaning they can be kind of rank anyway). Is the bluedog reference due to the general and perhaps universal consideration given that it's a recessive trait, ski...

Re: excessive itching, loosing hair and major weight loss?
Is that why you switched the feed to begin with? Did you do a straight switch back or did you mix feeds for a bit? How old is this dog? What's the natural character of the dog? Nervy, sensitive, bold, etc. Sometimes stuff like this comes on due to stressful events. I don't intend to be overly forwar...

Re: Petition To Ban Lion and Bobcat Hunting In Arizona
Its hard for me to take online tuff guys serious, its like a dog chasing a car. What do you think is going to happen when that dog catches the car. Are you suggesting that you want to be "caught"? Or was there some other inferred message in what you wrote? This is an example of what I was...

Re: A Quiet Kennel ???
This is an interesting topic. In other working dog applications I have observed many of the same corrective actions offered above: 1. breeding for a more balanced dog thereby achieving greater biddability and a natural resting character. 2. proper management, corrections need to be consistent and ab...

Re: Feet - what's the issue ?
I think that would be quite an experience to do what you said. You want food on the table? Go get it, thats your only option. Course in a place where a moose could feed for quite a while ... you can't be using dogs on them, nor do you need to. That changes things bit but I still think it would be in...

Re: Squatting
How do Lynx fit into this discussion, if at all? Same? I'm obviously expressing my ignorance and lack of familiarity with hunting them as I don't even know if they are legal to hunt and if so, can you use dogs on them. Just curious.

Re: Squatting
ha ha, I bet it does. The amusement factor alone is enough to make me interested in explore this a bit more. It's kind of a ridiculous notion to me to think that there's cats out there hunkered down watching a drain swirl of commotion going on nearby and probably no one even knows that the cat is th...

Re: Squatting
Are you guys talking about all kinds of cats or just specific types? As someone who finds zen in watching dogs work scent, I think I'd find this interesting to observe.

Re: Feet - what's the issue ?
I am glad I asked the question I did. What you said gives me something to consider as I eventually plan on changing where I live and what I do by a fair bit. It might just involve a daily hunting/gathering set up. The dog (not hound) I have now thats a pad ripper does it when I am running her on wit...

Re: Squatting
I started to comment on this thread earlier because I found it funnily amusing. I couldn't exactly figure out why but finally did when I read the post above about videoing it: "embarrassing but good". I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me because I am still chuckling over the stories ea...

Re: Feet - what's the issue ?
In reading the responses it's hard for me to understand why any hunter/breeder would compromise the literal foundation of their dogs by breeding anything other than what is optimal.
