I grew up with a guy, known his since we were knee high to a grasshopper and hunted every possible moment we could. He's had good dogs when I didn't have squat and vise versa. When he get's into a rut and can't seem to tree one he's downing everyone else's dogs and you think he owns every inch of pu...

TN bear hunting

We had a pretty good morning. A buddy and I went together and had a heck of a race. The dogs split and his best dog (a 3 legged Kemmer) started barking treed/bayed. She would be loud and then go silent for some time. We made our way to where she was but could only hear a muffled bayed bark. We liste...

Had this conversation just this very morning. All the guys with the best dogs in the group says to get your dogs on as many kills as possible. Acouple others sayed only a couple should do it for a young dog just to "get the picture" they and they had pretty good dogs as well. Myself I like...

Dog registration question

I bred two dogs about a year ago. The pups came and only 2 runts lived. I never registered them and gave a pup to a friend of mine. He now wants to register it. Both parents are registered but I can't find the papers for the sire. How and/or could I still register this pup for him?

Redbones N bear hunting

Now I may get whipped, flogged, tarred and feathered but I want to ask this question. I have never hunted behind a redbone bear hunting and as far as I can remember I have never seen one in the woods while bear hunting. Most people are either walker or plott men with a blue dog sprinkled in every no...

I have tried everything to get stuff outta the woods and the best way is to just quarter it up. I've heard of those guys that can throw a 250# bear on their back and walk out with it. I'm in purdy good shape and I can't carry one that big very far. We have used poles and tied them on like you were t...

About as "extreme" as it gets around here is a 45 min ride to the lake, 30 min boat ride and start hunting and then a 7 hour drag back to the boat. A bear and hogs from acouple years back. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/blountboy/mybear019.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112...

I was looking at another thread and didn't want to hijack it so I would like to start a new one. Catch had some pictures and made a comment about extreme hunting places and I was wondering what extremes everyone goes to to hunt and share some pictures if ya got any. Around here we don't have that mu...

Well after spending enough money to buy a pack of well trained hounds I think he's alright. Atleast he's acting like it. I started feeding him cooked meat from my stash in the freezer that was getting alittle age on it not a day or two after he broke it. I mixed up a big pot of noodles, deer, bear, ...
