I really like the looks of your dog. "Houndy" I believe is the term I'm looking for.
Your profile says Oregon but the plate on the truck looks like a Livingston Mt. plate? Either way, looks like your ready to go.
Good luck and have fun.

Re: Tires
Toyo M55 the best tire out there, I have tried a bunch and they wear the best and dig well n the snow. I would have agreed with this statement, had I not run a set of Duratrac's. The Toyo's of yesteryear wore way better than the last two sets I've used. The Goodyears are out wearing them by quite a...

Re: Tires
I've got Goodyear Duratrac on both my 1 ton and 1/2 ton Fords. They both run 18" wheels so I put the same tire on them, both are running "10 ply rated" tires, which are really a 6 ply. My half ton has a little over 20k on them and the one ton has around 10k on its. They seem to hold u...

Re: House cat and pup
NO, it will not ruin your pups. Think about a stock dog for a minute....They are born and bred to chase stock. A finished stock dog will not leave the house and go chase the cows out in the pasture, will stop chasing a cow when told to, and will lay quietly beside the chute while cows walk by. A hou...

Re: alpha map ?
You can't turn off the function of the red pin that I know of. It annoyed me also so I just got in the habit of locking the screen, whether I hang it or put it in my pocket, after each use. If you are on the map screen when you lock it, it will stay on the map screen. It also will keep you from acci...

Re: garmin alpha and astro......
I have the new alpha and my running partner has the astro system. Was curious if any of you guys are in the same situation as far as wondering if the tt10 collars will throw off the dc30's if you put one of each on one dog. I'd like to know where my buddies dogs are as well as my own. I ran DC 20's...

Re: snow pants
I wear Filson wool pants basically from October thru April. I change what I wear under them based on the temp...from light "pajama pants" when its warmer to Army surplus "under Armor" when its really cold. I wear Kenetrek boots, insulated or non depending on the temp. I used to u...

When I asked, I was told that the tag holder had to be the only one carrying a weapon. Other than that, It was OK to handle the dogs for the hunter as long as there was no exchange of any form of compensation...

Re: Alpha Shock page.
I got one dog I need to move to another page on the shock list. One page has two dogs and another page only has one. Kinda irritating to mess with. Any ideas how to change it ? Yes, I have an idea.... From the "home" page, go to "setup", go to "training", go to "t...

You plug the DC50 into the computer and the tracks go directly to Basecamp.

Re: lost communication
Liz, what are you using? 220 or 320? dc20,30 or 40? If I was to guess, I would say your using a 220 with a dc30. My brother in law has this same issue. I can track his collars with my 320 and his 220 won't. If we change ID#s, sometimes it helps and sometimes we have had to update the collar. Doesn't...

Re: Question of intellegence
This is a cool subject. One I like to read about. I have a female hound that's of unknown origin, yet does a respectable job. In years gone by she took a lion track backwards in the snow. She ran it like a champ, till there wasn't even a mark in the snow. I've doubted her ever since. She opens, I go...

Re: Flagstaff/new Garmin
I've had mine for a while now and I don't have much bad to say. Good system that was pretty well thought out and durable. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but a big improvement from the Astro and Tritronics. Don't buy it expecting to track and shock dogs at 10 miles, but it will track m...
