Weight Builder

Postby tandrus » Tue Jun 10, 2014 11:27 pm

Has anyone ever used the Farnam Weight Builder for horses on your dogs. During the running season I have trouble keeping weight on the dogs and I was thinking about trying this product, what do yall think? Feed back is appreciated.
Thanks!

Watch giving calf starter or calf milk replacer to dogs. When designing a calf starter or milk replacer we will often use rumensin or bovitech to control coccidiosis and improve weight gain. The problem is that this can kill dogs, so if you are going to feed anything like this, make sure that it is labeled NON_MEDICATED.

During deer season when I'm running my deer hounds every doy I keep feed in front of them all the time when they are at the camp.i don't have the cold temps. to deal with that you may have but if you do that with the puppy feed it might work.

I have a neighbor that milks goats. I only give my dogs about a half cup per day but the high fat seems to be the trick for me for keeping weight on during cat season.

Weight Builder

Postby Goose » Mon Nov 24, 2014 11:46 pm

The feed I buy has swapped recipes or cut back on the amount if fat their putting in the feed. I noticed it was drying out and my dogs were dropping weight. So I went and got a bucket if the farnam weight builder and I'll mix 2 scoops using the scoop provided , one scoop of diamotecious earth, and 2 scoops of a immune and joint system enhancer in a container. I repeat this process until the container is full. Next I'll mix cooking oil in my dog food so the mix has something to stick to. I use that concoction about 4 times a week.
