Feet problems

Postby lionhunter78 » Thu Apr 20, 2017 7:38 pm

I got a older dog shes had good feet all her life until this year, her pads have always been black but this winter they turned white it looks like your feet when you been standing in water to long. I'm sure its some kind of fungus but been giving her antibiotics and washing her feet with a anti fungus shampoo and topping them with blue kote but no luck. Anyone ever have this problem or maybe any advice on what else a person can do. Been trying everything I can before I take her back to the vet

Bleach. Dip her feet in bleach (un-diluted) once a day for a few days. Should clear it up fast.

You need to find put what exactly is causing it. Since the treatment for one issue will make it worse.

If its fungus, bleach will kill it faster then any anti fungus shampoo or creme's. .

Glad to hear it's clearing up.. Bleach would have had her back and going in half the time. But everybody has their opinion. Ask 10 different hound men and you'll get 10 different answers! lol Glad its clearing up.

Povidone iodine or Betadine it’s a antifungal, an effective disinfectant for paws.

It sometimes is cause by hounds running on snow were they put salt.
