Waiting to find out how many less tags have been sold this year, F&W won't have the numbers until the season close's.

Yeah, It's a joke. Almost half of all bears taken every year in CA were taken with dogs. Biologists have been trying to RAISE the quota from 1700 to 2000 for quite some time now, but have been getting shot down by the Bunny Huggers in office. The quota of 1700 will never be met again now that they outlawed dogs.
Also, they (F&W) count road killed, trapped and killed nuisance bears, and Depredation bears towards the HUNTERS quota of 1700 so they can close the season earlier if possible. Ca DFW has been infiltrated by HSUS for a long time here. It's only going to get worse!

Any guesses to what the final numbers are going to be. Im putting it out there 1147 is my guess? It is still higher than what i originally anticipated but i have my thoughts as to why that is happeneing.

With the lag of the wardens getting in there validated tags and now that the deer seasons have closed I wouldn't think they would pass 1000 this year, looking at the month to month take for last year the take was just under 700 for Nov. and Dec.

As of Nov. 14th 795, the count is slowing down now that deer season has closed. Last year at this time we were about 1461 (+/-)

Think of all the bears that the HSUS has saved....... They will just be killed by government trappers/hunters and cost more money instead of generating revenue. They are not "saving" anything.

Just think of the bear population next year and the year after i believe it is really going to explode and the problems are going to be 5 times worse than they are having now. I was out goofing off a few weeks ago in the middle of the day and came across 3 different bears within 3 miles while driving in my truck.

I do a lot of packing in the National Forrest and National Park. I mean real packing with horses and mules not the faggoty back packing like the hippys out here do.
It ain't nothin to see anywhere from 3-6 or more bears in a day. The last DFG estimate I heard was between 30,000 and 40,000 bears. We as hunters harvest 1700 bears a year and the population was still growing out of the habitat available. Last count I heard for this year was under 750. Not many more are going to be harvested because of this ban. There are very few people that are going to go out just for a bear. I give it 4-5 years and the population will have grown 25% and the tree huggers will realize what a bear really is.

I feel bad for you guys especially in a few more years when the bears are starving and starting to ransack the edges of town for food. Poor bear too, you know mother nature. It's always boom and bust, no happy median, there's gonna be a lot of dead bear. It might work out in the long run if you aren't able to get the law changed in the next couple of years. Maybe people that work in Sacramento will see how ridiculous this law was.
