I got this Duncan dog about half way through bear season last year.He is one of those dogs that is just a natural.I got him when he was near 2 years old and he had recieved absolutley no training to that point. This dog would strike and start his own bear after about the 6th or 7th bear he had ever seen.He seems to have a really good nose too. Can't wait to see him go this bear season.

Ya know, if this post doesn't make you want a black dog, I don't know what would. I'm developing a little case of "dog envy".

Heres Canyon now at 10 months old and with a little more time out in the woods will be ready to go.

Heres a pic of Duncans Thunder. Thunder was crossed with Neilson's Cleo that produced some reallly nice hounds. Thunder was full littermate to Houch. Duncan was offered a handsome price for Thunder at a young age and sold him. Pic courtousy of Ken Duncan.

anyone know of any Duncan pups for sale out of proven parents? i just lost a good little bear dog it was my daughters and she wants a black and tan puppy. she is only six but goes to every tree with me. i figured the least i could do was get her a pup. she is pretty shook up about losing her best friend.

Thanks

Well, this post was more than I could handle. I got ahold of Treedog/Boone and he put me in touch with Ken and there should be a pup on the ground in the first part of June out of Emmy and Smokey that will call my house home. I haven't decided wether to get a female or male yet. Thanks, Scott

I think you will be happy with your black dog I know I am happy with mine. I've had my first black and tan a full year now and he's hard on bears and lions. Seems to like lions a little more.

I also ordered the topo maps, do I need to get a card to handle that? What are you guys doing?
Thanks Gundawg

Yes, you will need to get a MicroSD card to install the topo maps on. The astro is worth every penny.
I use the Garmin mapping software to manage the tracks and such on my PC. I use the topo map from miscjunk.org.

Scott

PS. When do you expect your pup?
