Why walkers?

Postby Plottguy88 » Thu Feb 07, 2013 7:41 pm

I've been using hounds for hunting for about a year now and have much more to learn. I've got a plott and a Kemmer cur but everyone I've talked to and I see it a lot in pics why does everyone love the walkers so much? Is there something about them that is better? Thanks guys!
All I need is a plott and some mean ass curs!

That's kinda like asking why someone prefers driving a Chevy over a Ford, they all get us from point A to point B, and usually most all hounds will get us under game. Just depends on the style in which you want it done.

I prefer Walkers because that's what (most) of my immediate family has/had. I also like the speed, nose, track style, endurance, toughness, heart, grit, loud mouth, early starting and good temperment most of them have. Not saying that other breeds don't, I just like seeing all that wrapped up in a slick looking flashy tri colored package - I'm biased. The other breeds (and heck even some line of Walkers) just don't have what I'm looking for on a consistant bases.
