You're right, there is a PILE of them! Believe it or not she threw 15 pups -9 males, 6 females. Funny enough, my female was one out of 15 in her litter. One thing's for sure, I've got my hands full for the next several weeks. I thought we might have to intervene and help her keep them all fed, but she's doing a good job with them. Should be some good looking, gamey pups.

From the looks of it, momma is doing a fine job already with them all......Your whelping pool looks nice and cozy......please keep us posted with progress and updates....and some head shots of those little monsters ......

All the pups are doing great and growing fast. Just over a week old now... Mostly males left available.

Oh get them claws cliped I just use reg. finger nail clipers and just take the end off and do the due claws as well .

Haha.. Yep, way ahead of you. We clipped their nails earlier this week to make Tana's life easier.. I removed their dewclaws at 3 Days old so that nightmare is over. 15 puppies makes everything more interesting for sure!

Those Due Claws are the worst about snaging the Ducts in the Nipple and cousing and Infection ..

Yeah.. I wasn't looking forward to the hassel of removing them on any pups, let alone 15.. but it wasn't terrible. Do you leave them or cut them off? All my dogs have had dewclaws, but I have always prefered them to be taken off, so I decided to go ahead and snip them on these ones. I just use large disinfected toe-nail clippers and wound/clotting powder. They didn't mind too much and healed up quick.

I haven't been But I believe in the Future I will be removing them all.. I have done a couple of litters and have used a toenail clipper and my Pencel Soldering iron .. Just clip then touch the iron and its sealed .
