Color question

Postby Moonshiner » Mon Nov 17, 2008 1:38 am

If I were to breed my bluetick male to a bloodhound, what colors could I expect to see when the pups are born.
Thanks

interesting, so a blue dog with tan in him will produce a all red bloodhound, hmm... well how well would the mix hunt, since i wouldnt be getting the color I had hoped for.

bloodhound crosses

bloodhound crosses make good rig and road dogs because they usely
are winders or drifters.thats because most bloodhounds hunt by body
scent.

thats what ive heard, and thats why ive been interested in getting some pups outta my Blue, hes a good dog, he just needs to earn his bones, before I let him cover any female.
My Blue has the ability to pick up a drifting scent an also a a track. Currently im working on makin sure my "pups" get broken off deer, Im positive once i can break them off deer I will have excellent hounds.
Theres folks out near me that breed Bloods, but I think they might be show quality, not hunters.

bloodhound crosses

There's to many people breeding bloodhounds that no nothing about hounds yet alone bloodhounds.A good bloodhound will have grit and
if put in a tight spot will fight to the end.they should have drive and
should be able to locate game on the ground and in the tree.
