my Silver Mist Kennels--Bob Mattscheck

Postby bignblu » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:46 pm

Hello from Silver Mist Kennels. I`m Bob Mattascheck and started Silver Mist Kennels in 1958 with the purchase of Blue Pilot Mike. I was in awe of this hounds ability and strove to continue with his bloodlines. One of his daughters was bred to Strolling Buck, whose parents were the great Vaughans "Rattler and Queen", a superior producing pair. "Bugle Ann" was produced from Buck and mikes daughter. She was eventuall bred to Vaughans Buck, a son from Cowboy, a bro of Blue pilot mime. Bugle Ann was a key producer and Brutus was a fine example. then there has been years of carefully selecting key hounds, many haveing "old line " blood from Mel Farber, Oliver Grant, Byron Ross`s "Nite Ranger" hounds. By this time I was rigidly following my own standard, disregarding the "standardization of the bluetick standard. My standard is the Old Fashioned Bluetick standard which is a far cry from the Gascon standard that I also disregasrd.
There have been many key hounds, too numerous to list, but I have never bred to please the public or any organizatrion. I have always bred the very best I could find, in an effort to preserve those ancient hound characteristics that I loved from the start, some 50 years ago. bignblu

I had a hound with Brutus in the 6th gen. He was bred to a Sugar Creek female.
What do the Nite Ranger hounds go back to? How did they hunt and look?
Do you know anything about the Odessy blues?

Questions Questions, How did this line do on bear's when you were out west? What is the chance of getting pup's? Are they good rig dog's? They have the look's of a fine Blue. Thanks for your time. Sam

Hello Mr. Mattscheck. My name is Kyle Whitley and I have been following your hounds for a while but have never been able to get in touch with you. I was wondering when the next time you would be breeding. Id like to get a pup from you when available.
