Nevada bear hunting

Postby savage » Mon Sep 19, 2011 4:19 pm

Everyone,

The bear hunt is on the current agenda for the September 23rd meeting of the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners. They are supposed to decide the future of the bear hunt here in Nevada and if they will make the hunt permanent or not.

Here is the link to the agenda.

Please send in a letter of support for the bear hunt, as there will be a lot of opposition to the hunt present at the meeting. Being able to attend the meeting would be great as well.
They have tons of letters against the hunt so please help us get it made permanent. Send your letters or EMAILS to any or all of the comissioners listed here:
http://www.ndow.org/learn/com/members/index.shtm
And also mention the use of hounds if you have time.I will be at the meeting to represent the Nevada houndsmen this friday and would appreciate your help.
Thanks, Paul

Good luck Paul. I sent in my letter hard copy, but I still do not see it listed under correspondence. I hope it made it there.

I know the NV Game Department is for the hunt. There are some old bears over there. About two weeks ago when I was working in NV my friend checked in a bear that just the hide and head weighted in at 250 lbs. The NV biologist put live weight at between 600lb to 700 lb. There are some big old bears over there.

Come on guys and gals, get in on this and send in e-mails and letters today. You don't have to say where you're from, just show some support for the bear season. Mike
