We had a prettty good season here at Skinner Creek. Every hunter took a good boar. The dogs did ok but i sure noticed the difference with Cookie gone. I think we were a little bit behind last years treed average somewhere about 80% treed.
A few got away due to heading in to no mans land, others due to clients that could not keep up. There are a few areas in my concession you cringe when you see the bear heading in that direction. No roads for miles and miles.
This season there seemed to be a few more walking bears and some big boars with some big attitude.
Here are a few pictures of dogs and bears for Spring 2015

Nice pictures. And I am really glad that someone thought enough of the dogs to get them in the picture with the bear. And I am not trying to be a negative here its just the dogs do all the work and the dogs are forgotton by the hunter. Just makes for a better picture is all I am saying. You take good pictures of the dogs we all enjoy seeing them. Thanks

Chilcotin hillbilly,
I need to watch your posts more closely, you guys in BC are the closest thing to running dogs in Alaska, and it looks like I could sure learn a lot from you.
Its interesting though- SE Alaska doesn't produce that many color-phase bears, except glacier bears. How often do you guys get different color phases?
Great pics,
Luke
