Lion Committee News 4-26-12

4 UHA board members attended another community meeting in Tremonton last night. As we travel around the state to these meetings we continue to hear that the lion population is disappearing at an alarming rate. We also find that there are many sportsmen who want to do what ever they can to reverse this trend. We can do it if we all work together, we have to quit killing the females, we have to help everybody we come in contact with understand how important this is right now. And we need to make sure we are mentoring new hunters and spending time with them and teaching them how to identify a female and how to identify the age class of the lion. If we kill a big tom several younger toms will usually move into his area, if we kill a young female nothing is coming to take her place.
We are looking for a place to hold a meeting in Utah County, if anybody knows of a place please let me know. Thanks to all those who are getting these community meetings together. We need more of them; if you can help get one together let us know and we will be there to support you.

Respectfully
