Re: Let’s talk.
We’ve finally got some decent snow most of the places I hunt and with the windchill it’s 40 below right now. Don’t think me or the pups are interested in that lol.

How do you keep your dogs in that kind of weather? Do you have to bring them in?

Re: Let’s talk.
Just have insulated dog houses some with doors and some without, the ones without have partition walls to keep the body heat in. They all dislike the indoors, I’ve tried it and they are so restless nobody gets any rest. Dog houses are also in open faces loafing sheds to keep the wind off the houses.

https://youtube.com/shorts/3BW70vDZ6cM? ... KTxPleVjUZ took a long time and serious team work to get this one up today, I had to help the dogs a time or 7 lol I’ve chased this cat lots of times over the years and it’s always used the same tricks to evade us even though I see it multiple times each time I try. Likes to climb a juniper near the road let the dogs roll by and jump out and jump into my tire tracks then go up the road turn around come back away and dive off as far as it can leap. Finally got it caught though

That’s awesome Joe, congrats on getting it treed! I have been running bobs here and there but haven’t treed one yet. It’s definitely a difficult hunt!

Been hitting the woods with my buddies and our awesome coonhounds lately. Love the thrill of the hunt, you know? Any of you got some good hunting stories or tips to share?

Re: Let’s talk.
Well ran 2 different bobs today and got whipped both times, some days would trade the potlickers for nothing today I’d pay for someone else to feed them haha if catching bobcats was easy everyone would be good at it lol

Ha ha ha I don’t feel so bad about not catching any yet, now. If your dogs got outsmarted by one then mine definitely will lol.

Re: Let’s talk.
We are having a heat wave… it was almost 80 degrees warmer than a few days ago but still below freezing turned out on a lion and a bobcat headed in the same direction about a quarter mile apart and the damn dogs all ended up on the lion, but at least caught something.
