Funny how the government uses all of the “evil” management tools that have been robbed from us . Hounds, traps, cameras, collars, aerial pursuit, etc…) seems like it’s their favorite ones too .

Mornin fellas. Just got off the mtn. Killed a tom in a mine but 2 of my dogs fell down a shaft. I’m headed to town to try to find some rope
The dogs seem to be fine as far as I can tell. They’re up moving around but they fell twice, 2 15’ drops.

Yeah we just had some hunters die out here this summer in a very similar situation

Well I’m glad I didn’t end up like those hunters, Law! I got 200’ of rope from a gas station. I was able to rappel into the mine and pull the dogs up one level at a time. They’re all good as far as I can tell. They fell 40-45 feet in all but fell twice. Got home just before noon today.

That’s good bud. I think there were 3 maybe 4 of them that fell into an old cistern that had no lid or cover over the opening. They had a dog or two fall in it and went to retrieve it. One went in to help the other and then another but they were all overtaken by gases and died before help could get to them. It was a bad deal.

Last day of lion/bobcat season today, haven’t caught a damn thing in quite a while but I haven’t been putting forth much effort. Bear season starts tomorrow so hopefully get my motivation back.
