Re: Let’s talk.
Woke up to 10 below so went back to bed till the family got up. By the time I left the house around 8am it was up to zero. Cut a track on the first road I hit but I thought it was a day old, dumped the box and apparently I was wrong because they flat out were flying and only went about 3/4 of a mile and treed 30 yards off of a four wheeler road so a nice 600 yard hike to a small female lion. Made it back to the truck and went and ran the road I treed off of yesterday and another female had showed up heading towards where I treed the day before. Caught her but ended up being a very long day just walked in the door at 8pm.

I like the simplicity of the designs. I have most of the materials but not all of the materials to finish building the tracks. I need to build a flat stock bender, buy the metal and mounting hardware, then put it together. A 2 or 3 day project I think. I may go buy the materials tomorrow if I can find them. Then I’ll start building the track guides..

Re: Let’s talk.
They were really fired up for sure. Had a damn tough race, started in the high county on hard packed snow ended literally in the bottom of the foothills. They bayed up a bobcat in a mine shaft in the middle of the race and a few dogs kept pecking at the lion track, which by this time was in mostly dirt. They treed 100 yards off the road and were split, had that little tom in the video and a female which I figured was his sibling about 150 yards away.

Fill this out and send it to everyone!!!

I also added this to the email:
I demand the reimplementation of the use of hounds for hunting bears and bobcats along with allowing the use of baiting for bears. They are extremely valuable tools for hunters to use, to be able to judge the size of bears and whether it’s a boar or sow with cubs!

Re: Let’s talk.
Tomorrow lion season ends, we got some snow yesterday so the kid and I headed out to try and catch 1 last lion. We live on a 2 mile dead-end road with our house being the last.(on the left) lol. We live out in the prairie between 2 mountain ranges and the wind blows all the time. Had to fight 5 ft drifts all the way out. Took an hour and a lot of shoveling just to get to the highway but we made it. Found a female lion an hour after daylight, got turned out and dogs had her treed in short order, about 2 mile race. We drove around to the drainage they were in and cut the first bear track we've found this spring. The road up the drainage is more a four wheeler trail in a creek bed but my chevy makes it. Got a flat 3/4 of a mile from the dogs so my 13 year old grabbed my old gps and said see you when you get to the tree. Got the tire changed and hiked in to him and the dogs. Sun was shining and it was a great day in the woods with the hounds and my kid!

That’s a hell of a good day, bud! I can’t wait until my kids are big enough to really hunt with me, like that.
