https://youtube.com/shorts/O48yGPtKU_A? ... Bqxu5MS3gh Weekend started out well on Saturday morning, wish the race was better but the girls started it off the box so I’m not complaining. Treed 200 yards off the road after about an 800 yard sprint.

That bear appears to be healthy. Missing part of front leg and foot? Is most of your country that open? What is the bloodlines behind your dogs? Thanks AL

Re: Let’s talk.
Yes sir from the elbow down was gone and had hair over it not like a scar, so possibly born that way. Amazing that he was able to climb. My dogs are mostly walker dogs, nance/gallintine/jeff Allen blood on the sire side, he’s in the video crossed on my female which her blood is mostly walker but no certain answer about what’s mixed in to throw the red and white color. She has a great cold nose and is my best bobcat dog, runs a track silent and needs no help to catch and stay treed. Shame she’s gotten old on me. That bear was caught on deer and elk calving ground just barely out of the sage brush, most of out mountains are think timber due to no logging on most of our public ground here in Montana. I ran into a spot and stalk bear hunter who was out looking for old 3 legs as he called him, broke his heart when I told him we had harvested him the week prior. He showed me a video that he said was from early 2000’s of that bear. He was in a grassy meadow and would hobble 4 or 5 steps then rip over and eat grass laying down, he was very large in the video already!

Thanks for the information. Recall trapped a coyote one front leg was all dried up and deformed, she was very skinny, wondered how that happened. Maybe born that way? Belle/s sire threw a lot of red & write walker dogs so I was told. Belle was not she looked almost like a black & white English with light ticking.

Re: Let’s talk.
We caught a boar hog a few weeks ago that had one hind leg that wouldn’t touch the ground. It stuck out behind him. When the ranch manager seen him he commented awe heck, y’all caught the ole crippled boar. I assume he had been shot or hit by a vehicle at some point. It was old and healed. My dogs didn’t allow him the opportunity to find out if he could climb.

Re: Let’s talk.
Man, it’s been a couple weeks since I got out. Work and projects at home have just kicked my butt. But as long as everything goes well and help from my brother and a couple friends we will pour a new slab for my kennels next week. That’ll save a ton of headaches with dogs getting out and make chores a lot easier though.
It’s supposed to be hot next week so I wouldn’t be hunting anyways. Supposed to be mid to high 90’s.

Mornin gentlemen. We managed to make a decent concrete slab yesterday! 15’ by 50’ and it came out great. Now I just need to start working ridiculous amounts of overtime to be able to afford to build the rest of the kennel lol.

Re: Let’s talk.
Left work Friday afternoon around 3 busted butt got home showered loaded all my crap and dogs took a 4 hour drive to hunt with some younger buddies at their bear camp. Made it to the hills about 10 minutes before dark and the dogs just erupted in the box. I had never seen this country before so no idea if it was a good idea to turn down or not and also didn’t want to be rude and turn out without them so against the dogs screaming wishes I drove on. Next morning we get on one pretty quick and they ran that thing through the middle of camp and straight into a canyon the boys aptly call the Grand Canyon, at one point one of them went and dropped the dogs off a ledge to get them back on the race. Dogs eventually bayed it on a terrible cliff just 50 yards off the road and it was whipping some of their young dogs. Went and took a nice long nap through midday and then caught use another right before dark. Made the boys get up earlier today and we had a nice boar and a sow treed before 9 am, was a great trip with some friends I don’t get to hunt with much!
