That is a good idea jeff. I will try to get that done this week if I can. out of the 8 dogs I and my dad have entered they are all 3yrs old or less. 4 are littermates. which were born at my house . they are out of warners dog and my female. ringer and windy I raised from puppies. jon warner raised sam and sunny. i bought stitch over 2 yrs ago and she might be 4 not sure on her. bess is out of my and warners breeding and i bout her a yr ago from jon. hammer is a dog that was born in powers Or. my dad pretty much trained him and his previous owner . my dad and i got him a few months ago. he has only been on 15 cats or so. but he will make a nice dog . i got rainy when she was about 4 months old. she is 2 and is coming on great. These dogs have been hunted with a pack there whole life . It is really fun seeing them singled out.

Just an idea as well, I was kinda thinking about a judging guideline like they do in rough stock riding they judge the rider from 1-50 points on over all talent on his ride and then they judge the bull or horse on his tallent from 1-50 so what I mean is judge the dog on a scale and the cat on a scale and in the final round put the highest two dogs in a pack and run two cats highest point dogs wins

I think that'd be tough in country where you don't get to hear the entire race. Hard to judge what you can't see or hear. If you you never lost hearing of the race maybe you could judge how fast they picked up a loss or timed jump to tree but seems real tough in hard terrain. Jmo

ringer has another one started. its in the middle of a huge briar patch. jc says he don't think he will catch it unless he gets it out of the briars and into the timber.

its a cutover with the slash left then the briars{ black berry or other thorny berry} grow over it. if you walk in it you will find that it is too weak to stay on top and is about five feet to the ground. cat can run on top dog cant. nasty stuff.

a good hard running dog comes out of that stuff with no hair left on their nose, forhead, and tail. if they don't run hard enough to do that then the cat just casually walks around till the dog gets so far behind that he cant trail it any more.
