Re: Northwest Oregon coyoters
Haha those are two true statements, I mainly like to run cats but there's so many coyotes were I hunt and so very few cat I'd be a liar if I said my potlickers didnt take an occasional coyote specially when they havnt been out in awhile I tend to have to tune them in, but with the coyote population the way it is were I'm at I was thinking about getting one dog to just run yotes with GPS collars changing the game in hunting I was thinking it would be a blast run them, you could always go out anytime you want and here a good race and have a little fun trying to thin them out

By the way mark that's a good picture , you those are some nice looking dogs I bet they can move a track pretty fast
Re: Northwest Oregon coyoters
Ray Carver had a line of coyote dogs back in the eighties. He lived down near Monmouth, Oregon. His dogs caught and killed them. They were tri colored dogs. He was a sheep man and considered it predator control. I have tried to find him and been unsuccessful in recent years. There is a young man by that name that comes up in a search. He is near Monmouth so I am wondering if it is his son. I have not been able to get ahold of him either.
Ray said it took him most of his life to find dogs that could get the job done.
I wish I knew if his line still exists.

Ray doesnt have that old strain anymore, your right he talked about his dogs catching and killing them coyotes, he runs the July strain of running dogs now or at least his grandson still does, ray is full of knowledge and knows his stuff when it comes to his running dogs and catching coyote, not to many guys like him around anymore

You know how to get ahold of Ray?!?!?
Please send me his contact info, unless you feel like he would not want that to happen.
If that is the case, let me give you mine and see if he would contact me.
I have tried hard to find him. I Can't believe this place. Everything is so easy on here. Lol
