Cost of a good dog

Postby Tanner Peyton » Tue Jun 20, 2017 10:25 am

I was just wondering fellas, what would a good tracking coyote hound cost. Im not in the market for one by any means but I was just wondering. What would a good solid start to finish get it done by them self coyote dog in its prime cost? If you were willing to see her or him, of course.

Thanks Tanner

They can go between $400 and $1200. Some guys will ask for more, but decent hounds can be had for less than a grand. I just bought some, but I practiced ALOT of patience and held out for exactly what I wanted at fair prices.

I think it can vary depending on your location somewhat as well. Along with your and everyone else's expectations of a start to finish coyote hound. If a hound can take a cold trail, jump it and then catch it and kill it or hold it there until you get there yourself by ITSELF. I personally would think you have a special hound with likely a special price. some top notch dogs that I know of, one grade male sold for 3,000. another for 2,500.

Mine cold trials and jumps and runs well just doesn't like fighting so he waits til other dogs are there and then he'll sit back. But he loves the thrill til it comes for him
