2015 National Hound Association Summit.
I''m please to announce that over the last couple months and weeks I've been talking with many different Board members and leaders from many different associations. Trying to figure out if we can create and organize nationally and how to do it.
Today we are excited to announce the next step! Double U will host a national Summit at the Wisconsin Bear Hunters convention to gather hound associations across the U.S. to get together and discuss what it takes to align nationally. Below is the link to the Press release with documents.

If you have any input or ideas, I would love to hear them. This meeting will be limited to Leadership of associations first so that we can try to figure out what and how to move forward.
I have personally invited and talked to leadership from Wisconsin, Michigan, Virgina, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, California, Maine. I've also invited NHTDA as well.
More information to follow.

The Virginia Bear Hunters Association has voted and approved having a representative there. Hope there are many more. Maine's battle this year should have opened a lot of eyes. Yes it will be an uphill battle but it can be done and if we don't start at some point then it will never happen. Why not let this be the beginning!

Bearsnva,
Thanks, I just emailed Dave also! I think it's going to be a really good showing. we are seeing allot of positive feed back on this and getting most of the states to commit to sending a rep.
We are working on the pamphlet now.

Buddy, have you contacted the National Foxhunters Association, there are 156 affiliated foxhound associations that are members of the national. May find some interest from them in what you are trying to do. May also want to post something on speeddogs and masterfoxhunt. The Chase and Hunters Horn magazines may also be good place to advertise for interest in the summit.
Re: 2015 National Hound Association Summit.
Buddy,
A few years ago, the WBHA had a summit of bear hunting associations. This was supposed to be an annual event, unfortunately it only took place for two years. I know that we hosted both events, and then it was supposed to be held in other states, not sure why it died out, as I was no longer on the BOD. We had attendees from California, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Ontario along with representatives from states you already mentioned. I would also suggest inviting West Virgina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, along with the all hound associations. We need the entire hounding community to come together to fight the increasing pressure the antis keep mounting.
As hound hunters, we all have our own favorite breed, favorite game to pursue, area to hunt, and organizations to support. Now is the time to put all that aside, and come together united in voice, and action to become a force to be reckoned with, and to be proactive taking the offense in this fight to preserve, restore, and promote hound hunting so future generations can experience the joy, and excitement of listening to the full cry of the hounds.
I commend your actions Buddy, please let me know if I can help.

It went very well. We have allot of Top people and associations in the room at the table. Everyone's Feedback so far has been positive. I'm still digesting all the moving pieces from the weekend, to implement the plan forward. will be giving more information about this soon.
