GARMIN "ID" COLLAR INTERFERENCE

Postby SHADOWHUNTER » Sun Aug 12, 2012 2:37 pm

MY QUESTIONS ARE; WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN A DC30 I OWN AND ANOTHER COLLAR SOMEONE ELSE OWNS THAT IS CAUSING THAT NOTORIOUS NOTIFICATION STATING " ANOTHER COLLAR WITH THE SAME ID IS INTERFERING WITH YOUR HOUND DOG", AND IS THERE A SAFE WAY OF CHANGING THE ID FROM YOUR HANDHELD TO A MOVING DOG, WHEN ONE GETS THIS NOTIFICATION? DO I HAVE TO BE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY( 10 FEET OR SO ) OR CAN THE DOG BE OUT AND ABOUT IN THE FIELD? IF SO AND ANY, WHAT IS THE THAT DISTANCE....THANKS

In order to change the ID of your DC30 you must be within a few feet(10 or so). If the other collar causing the interference is within range of your handheld to recieve the signal is all the closer it has to be(depending on your area, within a couple miles probably).
