i could point you in the direction of some lion, butt that would be like cheating, oar worst even stealin' lions from those who buy a tag and spend their hard earned dollars looking 4 and then hopefully chasin a lion. then the fingers of blame would be pointed back at the dude who gave away someone elses honey hole. hone your skills likes everybodies elses, what's the worst that can happen? you spend some coin getting to know alberta, and maybe she will grant you a lion. be four warned, there lots of competition out there and things that will interfere with you hunting. welcome and good luck.

Wow Napolean that was pretty intense....I was hoping things wouldnt be as competitive up here as they are back in utah, where if you werent on the mountain at three thirty a.m you might as well not even bother cause someones already their sittin on a track waiting for the sun to come up. I know I need to get to know this country it just made sense to ask some of the locals where a good place to start learning it would be.

welll if i had a crystal ball i could look into it and also tell you where a big tom was going to cross a road, when and if you could catch it. half to ask yourself if this was really hunting or just killing. imagine the pictures i could post and what a lion hunter i would be in the eyes of the minions wandering aimlessly around in the bush. heck if i could do that, i would be an outfitter, best in the west. lol

Crystal ball?? You seem like one of those guys that spends a good portion of his day playing video games and reading fantasy books.... At any rate it sounds like you have a sour stomach. Based on your previous posts I am nervous that if I did take your hunting advice I would find myself in some mystical land surrounded by hobits... In my original post I was asking for someone to point me in the right direction and I guess in a way you answered that by telling me that your magical land of "crystal BALLS" and "honey HOLES" is off limits....you can rest at ease cause I would like to avoid places like this...they sound like a gay porn movie.

larry it sounds like those youngsters up where your at haven't figured out that alot of lions cross in the early morning hours. they're kickin their own butt being up there at 11 or 12. it's starting to get earlier and earlier down here too.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.

You live in Montana right? Just a dumb question, why the hell do you all in that area cut off the majority of your tracks? As was said earlier, a lot of tracks are made right around daylight. Is it an opportunity to check other roads to possibly freshen up the tracks? Around here we get started around 5 or so. We will check until 2 or 3 in the afternoon if nothing pops up, but those days are few and far between. How big of area are you checking? do you know most of the guys your "competing" against? do you run just lions or do you harass the bobcats as well?
Just wondering.
