Funny, I was thinking of asking the same question for a while. One divorce, one engagement. I really thought I made it clear when I said, in a debate, them dogs were here, before you, and will probably be here after you They are And loving life, heck a man can always get a steady once he is told old to follow hounds, besides, Dating is kind of like fishing, catch and release, is working out better then I thought, and much cheaper

Re: dogs and divorce
Gave up everything I loved for my last relationship and was miserable. Never give up what you love for who you love, cause real love would not make you give anything up. At least that is how it should be. Best stay single, hunt and be happy. Life is too short to not do the things that make you the most happy. That might sound jaded, but that is my take on it all.
You an also be in a relationship with someone that shares the same interest with you and always tries to "one up" you. That is a miserable relationship as well. Yep, it is better to be single and just live your life as you see fit.

it is rare only bad part is she thinks since she's the lady she has first dibs on pulling the trigger. lol. other than that can't complain to much. lol and no my wife aint a rough looking woman. she used to work at a joint called coyote ugly in ft. lauderdale. aint figured out how i ended up with here considering most ppl wouldnt know me with out a big bushy beard. up until her i must agree it was better to stay single and hunt.

shoot i got bars up now. we have a son and he loves hounds as much as i do. sadly city ppl and tree huggers will never understand what we do cause they are so closed minded and city girls require a ton of up keep.

Re: dogs and divorce
I don't know about you guys but I think most hound hounters are extremely independant individuals. At least that's what upsets the women I attract. That I don't need "her" to "make me happy" really makes them feel unimportant but I don't need that kind of person in my life. For me anytime I'm dating a young lady if she tells me after a while that I make her happy I generally start distancing myself. It's not my job to make anybody happy. I'm happy where I'm at with my life and my hounds. Those men out there who have wives who accept their houndhunting have a special type of woman.
"A healthy relationship consists of two individuals who are accepting of the other without the intention of shifting a partners focus to their own" I had to pay a damn psychologist $75 an hour to understand that but it's true.

IF IT SQUATS TO PEE, LET IT BE....
Re: dogs and divorce
I'm six years in and there aint a week that goes by where my wife doesn't threatin the big "D" because of the dogs. luckilly so far I have kept her canned up for the last four years straight I love the hell out of her, but I don't think she will ever understand why I do this and why so often. her thinking is I should be able to go out a couple times a year and that's enough. I go two to three times a week all year round though. She really don't like critters especially dogs, I guess the oposites attract thoery hits home for me. maybe some day she will come with me and see what it's all about. as my kids get older they go more and more with me. pretty soon it will be me and the youngins and she will be home alone. I guess she'll either find a boyfreind or come join us. I hope it's the latter of the two.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
