Economy, You all feel it?

Post by azhoundhunter »

Folks, I dont normally post on here but recently I have been feeling like some thing has kicked me in the sac! :( My poor dogs have been sitting in the kennel more than they should be! I am having trouble getting out and am feeling guilty for the dogs!!! Hell I have caught and let go more cats go in the past couple of years than I normally would, but now I have trouble even getting out to let these wild bastards go and trash!!

I am not gonna quit and sell my dogs , but was wondering if any of you out there was going through the same situation as me.? Dont get me wrong I still have the drive and want, but not the funds. I try to get them dogs out every chance I get but its tough now that I have to work a full 60 hours to make up for a old forty hour work week!

It just kills me to look at that old dog in the morning when my truck fires up and
I turn left to go to work instead of turning right and seeing the glow of her eyes in the headlights and the steam coming off of her breath as she bawls her ass off wanting to go to work! Just wondering if any of you were going through the same thing?

I haven't been able to go as much as I would like either. Been way to busy. Every morning I walk past the hunting truck to drive away in my work truck. All those depressed little eyes just wondering when I am going to load them up. If I happen to take my hunting truck to town they get super excited and start running all over. Makes me feel like crap. I have been taking my work truck to town to cut down on their depression. Sounds kind of silly but it is like you can see it in their eyes.

I feel your pain. Work more so you can make less, family and dogs start getting neglected.

this was the first year in thirteen i didnt make it to the bear woods .breakdowns from not being able to keep up with maintenance from the shitty economy . i was forced to work for someone else harder and longer work. bottom line is i refused to go to the bank to borrow . this year hopefully is turning for the better maintenance on my buisness is almost complete . i still am getting in the woods plenty but had to change the game im hunting . coons ,rabbit ,and deer are in the woods out back i have to travel to bearhunt . my coon and rabbit dogs are happy but my three beardogs are bored out of their minds. i feel your pain gentlemen and sympathize. remember when we thought 50 dollars in gas to go hunting was exspensive . sure wish those days were back

I'm a concrete guy. I started my buisness about the time the economy took a sh%$. It has been a struggle just to keep a roof over my famillies head let alone get out and hunt. I went out the other day and it really made me realize that everything I own is a broken p.o.s!! not lookin very good to get fixed anytime soon either.

I guess I'm luckier than most. I'm always broke, but always find a way to get the dogs out. Wether its finding some people to go and pitch in on gas or using my last dollar I go. I still mannage to get after bear 2-3 days a week and coons just for something to do in between those days. So on average my dogs get out about 5 days a week this time of year. My dogs eat better than I do right now, but its worth it to me to get out and let them catch something. I hope the rest of you get the chance to start getting out more. Good luck
