New Years Day Cat
My friend and next door neighbor finally drew a lion tag after seven years of waiting. He has helped me out a ton over the years and and would never let me pay him always saying that he would like to get a nice cat. Well it was my time to try and get even with him, we were not finding many tracks and I was getting a bit worried but a another friend of mine cut a track on the 23rd of Dec when he was out checking his bobcat traps and gave me a call I dumped work went and got the dogs and headed out. The track was two night old and real slow trailing at about 3:00 pm I just about gave up but the dogs finally picked up some steam and got him treeded just before dark. Due to some bad luck two trees and some nasty ledges we could not get him killed that night. We were seriously bummed out. After checking again on the first we got lucky and cut his track again it did not take long to get him treeded but the hike was horrible the snow is way to deep but in the end we got it done.
