need some help starting pups

i have 5 running walker pups that are 10 weeks old. by the time deer season comes in they will be 6 months old. we can run deer with dogs here and i know people that run their coyote hounds on deer during the winter months, would it be ok to start these pups on deer and this coming summer put them on coyotes? or will i have problems? thanks.

I'm a little confused by your post, if you can run coyotes in the winter why not run your pups on coyotes this winter? Personally I would not encourage my dogs to run deer but if its legal where you are and you want to run deer thats totally up to you. I would put them pups down with an experienced dog and run coyotes. If you don't have an older dog and are just starting out with 5 pups thats pretty ambitious. Good luck, Dan
