I wouldn't worry about the deer at all. Is the pork wild? If it is, I'd cook it just enough to kill parasites. Other wise, I think raw meat is good for them.

Re: feeding dogs pork and venison
I say go for it. Raw meat and bones are realy good for thier teeth, had my new vet comment on how nice and white my 10 year old dogs teeth were and how young he looked. She thought I was brushing them and I said hell no, that sounds like too much work! Then I told her I feed raw meat and bones at least once a week and she said thats not good... I sure wish my old vet hadn't retired.
I feed mine deer meat scaps from hanging deer every year and never had them trash, maybe mine are not as smart as yours
I have had them hang up on lion killed deer but once I get there I just say "leave it!" and we are off again. Not a big deal to me as I like to see the kills and maybe pick up the antlers if they are decent
I also feed them old meat from the freezer, deer and elk mostly, some lion and bear. I think freezing may kill some parasites but its best to worm the dogs regularly anyhow. Mine do catch and eat rabbits, squirels and other rodents in the orchard and likly pick up more worms from that than the old freezer meat. When we are out on the trail they don't trash on rodents unless one pops up right in front of them, but then its over fast, one way of the other and I always take the critter away from them when we are out hunting so they can't eat it. Then we are on the way again so not a big deal to me, as long as they are not activly hunting them.
Anyhow my dogs are healthy and the only worms they have had are tape worms, two types one from mice and the bigger ones from rabbits. I just worm them when I see the little white tape worm segments come out. And have them tested once in a while for other types of parasites but its never come up positive, except on a pup that I had just got from the breeder. He had hook worms, but I saw some blood so I knew it must be something.

I feed my dogs beef and venison scraps but never pork cause its way wormy but if you only fed a little pork with beef or venison scraps or maybe dry dog food you would probably be ok and as for your dogs running deer after they eat venison I wouldn't worry about that the venison that I feed is the trimmings that have hair and stuff on them and it smells like deer and I've never had a problem just my opinion.
IT DONT MATTER WHAT COLOR IT IS AS LONG AS IT HUNTS!!!!
Re: feeding dogs pork and venison
thanks for the comments and the pork is one that we raised on the farm just must have got shuffled to bottom of the freezer and over looked so little old for us but im sure fine for the dogs. just got 3 boxes of fresh beef scraps from the butcher today there gonna eat could the next month or so.

i feed road killed deer to my dogs. i hang it up behind my yard and buther it and put it into large feed bags. i take out a big hunk and chop it up with an axe and give a good sized piece to each dog. i cut back on their evening meal when i do. they love chewing the bones and it will keep them entertained for a coupld of hours.

i have done this from time to time (clean out the frezzer but still feed the same amount) more of a treat if you will but never as a suppliment I do however feed my dogs stait beaver meat every chance i get Its amazing how much more energy they have when feed beaver and it makes them shine
If your bear dogs are"nt living on the edge they are taking up to much space

Re: feeding dogs pork and venison
I feed my dogs scraps all of the time. After butchering a deer or elk, I take the carcass and cut it up with a sawzall. I then boil everything, then bag it up, freeze it, and ration it throughout the year. The dogs love the bones and meat. This makes a great supplement to their dog food.

I've fed venison, lamb and elk, and dogs love it. It's lean and easy for them to digest. I would avoid pork altogether. It's definitely been linked to pancreatitis in dogs. Here are a few links. I usually stick to skinless chicken or lamb.
