BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA

Hi All,

Well, the moment we've been preparing for has arrived yet again...the HSUS has sponsored legislation (Senate Bill 1221) that would ban the use of dogs for the pursuit of bear and bobcat in California.

That is ridiculous and cannot happen. I and everyone i know will fight against that. Everybody needs to try and educate the importance of houndsmen for conservation. Keep us posted. Thanks

Well I hope it will be all of us and everyone we know in this state and all of the hunters from out of state that come here and everyone they know and everyone that has ever dreamed of coming here.
At least the timing is before the big CHC dinner...
This is the same senator that spurred the movement to get the commissioner fired for killing the lion in Idaho, bill is sponsored by the HSUS...and I thought just the weather was going to be depressing this weekend.
Well gotta get over it and get ready to do what I can to stop it, hope everyone will do the same.

It appears that they are pointing the blame for all of this on Dan Richards, This is a common divide and concur tactic. If we fall for this and all start point our fingers we will most certainly fail.

We need to get with an organization, such as California Houndsmen for Conservation (CHC), and see what we can do for them (ex. petition, letters, etc.). It will be hard for individuals to really get through by themselves.

I just sent CHC an email to see what we can do and will you know what i hear.

Thanks for pointing that out to me outlaw. I didn't see that before. I got a call from Josh in response to my email. The CHC already has the NRA and other major organizations on board. They are getting everything together and will be sending out information on how we can help soon.

When we get direction on what we can do we need to get every org. we can involved so we can win this by a land slide and make them think again about trying to take this from us again!

I agree that we need to not point fingers. it seems that they have already enlisted a few bird hunters in the write up for the bill.
Well here we go, I for one will help as much as possible and then some more! as soon as a petition is made available i will obtain as many signatures as needed to defeat this bill. Just let me know what will be required.
