Been treeing them everyday, shot a 150lbs one day and a 304 another. Treed one other nice 300, but it was really early and that guy is our group leader i guess, best dogs and has a need to get the one by camp taht has wrecked two fridges and breaks open barrels when we are not there. we figure it could be 4-500. So will see....hope it dont bite us in the ass. headed back up again tonight!

Good Luck

Opening day we treed and harvested one 226. Saturday we ran a nice one for 2 hours then it crossed a road into private property, so had to catch up the dogs. Sunday we couldn't come up with a track big enough for the shooter. He turned down a 5 inch track and he only has 2 more weekends to hunt before he goes out west elk hunting. We could use another shooter if anyone with a kill tag for zone A wants to hunt.

Well that big bear was shot by our neighboring group, went 425, we shot a 233 last week and a guy with a bad wheel we got a 152 close to him and he drug his bad leg in 300 yards to shoot it and he was happy as hell. nice to get a few bears shot out to the hounds, i forget sometimes they dont care what size the bears are!

I treed two today, all by myself with one dog. I am working third shift. (10:30pm to 6:30am) I got home from work and went to sleep. I got up at 10:30am and went outside and my dogs were really raising heck.

I noticed a dog over by my bait barrels barking like heck so I went over there. She had broken her chain and was treeing on the tree next to the bait barrels. I looked up expecting to see my cat or a squirell but I saw two bear cubs in the tree on the edge of my yard. They were small (thirty pounds ?) and there wasn't a sow with them.

Now that is cool. Dogs tree the bears while you are still in bed! Those are some well trained hounds.

How did everybody's season turn out? We got one male 226# (field dressed) treed, and another 480# (field dressed) bayed in a tag alder swamp. The guy shot him at 15 feet away. It took two shots in the chest from a 300 Winchester Mag to put him down. Niether bullet went through. Things got pretty tense for a few minutes. We also treed a few others that we let go. We held one tag so we could hunt the whole season and never filled it. A long, long wait untill training season again.
