You really answered your own question, if they are working well where you are why change? All the breeds you mentioned have a following and rightfully so. Hunt with the dog and see it in the woods.

I hunt and live in Sweden, and here we almost only have Ursus-plotts. That´s wy I don´t have hunted with other plottlines. But in the future I will buy a hound for bear, lynx and wildboar-hunting, and this forum seems to be full of knowledge about plottlines and bearhunting, that´s the reason wy I asked!
And if someone of you know were I can come and hunting blackbears with my own dogs together with an outfitter or a person with good beardoogs and a lot of experience in bearhunting, please tell me!

Seems to me there are bigger differences between the bloodlines than the breeds themself KeYbonE.
- Dont know what you "like" in a beardog, but If I were to have a straight "kill as many as you can" beardog for Scandinavian purposes, I'd probably go for some of them tightmouthed hoglines, most probably mixed with some Cur or Cath.
- Take a look at Bigolplotts posts. Looks and sounds like fun dogs to run, even though they are probably on the other side of the "mouthed scale", compared to the ones above.....

If your lucky enough to find the camphouse line, their hard to beat. They will cold trail with any breed, have good speed, voice, and their not crazy getting cut up all the time. You will stitch, but there is a difference. I've hunted with several of them over the years, and never seen them take a back seat to any breed or line. LOL

crockett dogs are not that bad just look for dogs that go to grey boy. if i wanted big game dogs i would get away from a plott honestly. just not what they used to be. i got out and have seen ten times more game in the year i been out of them than when i had them. i live where the plott originated and you pretty much have to give them away to get ppl to hunt them. the dad jim association(npha) won't even address a breed standard issue on color. i will say find the right breeder that takes pride in his hounds cause some one has bound to have some good ones out there some where. i agree with camphouse, ursus too. but i'd find me some english or walkers.

I totally agree I own and breed KAMPHOUSE dogs wouldnt own anything different they are the best in all perspectives you get an nine month old pup that has seen nothing and turn it loose it will tree game like its been hunting for years
