I think it's funny how people try to compare dogs. IMO those people are missing the point, and probably a lot of the fun of running hounds. (start the soothing music...) It's about being in the woods with your dogs, trying to figure out how to catch lions or whatever you're after. It's about learning something new each time you're out. It's about sharing the stories and pictures of your hunt... and at the end of the day being able to say "I'm important, and dog gone it, people like me" (ok, so I stole that last line from Saturday Night Live) Can't we all just get along!?

I agree people try to compare their dogs too much. I think the trick is to find dogs that fit you. My dogs aren't the best but I'm not the best hunter. We have fun together and catch a few cats. If my dogs were the best in the world I'm sure they would get tired of hunting with an amature like me! LOL
