Twowalkers, I think you nailed it on the head, The outfitters are not going to like it but to hell with them. I have been offered several times to guide hunters but wont do it, to me its like whorring yourself and your dogs out. I would love to see outfitting shut down all together.

I agree about outfitting for cats. Ive done it and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Some fat rich baby with no respect for the animal is dragged to the tree shoots a cat and loads up and goes home. I wont do it anymore its like pimpin out your girlfriend. You take something you love and trade it for money to someone who doesn't care and doesn't respect what you love. Just my opinion. There are alot of good outfitters out there but just one bad one can ruin it for everyone.

Iv turned loose 2 female yearlinges this year on 2 different hunts only to have guides kill them on the same day I turned them loose. Bothe preach no killing of females. So if it is a legal cat were taging it. Win we are out of cats the guides will be out of business. Thin I run bobcats.

I understand what you guys are saying about outfitters and i do agree with ya that alot of guys kill everything they tree.We are lucky enough that 95% of our guys are return guys and they have mostly all taken cats in the past,so they usually dont mind goin home empty handed if all we find is females.I hate killin females for sure.As far as pimpin myself and dogs out goes,well I gotta say that I love my job and I wake up every morning excited to go to "work".thats more than allot of people I know can say for their job.I have made some good dogs guidin too cause i get unlimited time to hunt and all my fuel and expenses are paid for.Its darn fun and I encourage everyone to try it once or twice before ya knock it so you can see what actually goes on instead of making assumptions about it.Who knows,ya might even like it.If you like hunting,you will love guiding.Im not sayin ur way off base about some stuff,but not all of us are ruthless killers that like to see small kittens slaughtered just for a pay check.We get paid wether we kill anything or not so if they dont get to kill a female,well it dont hurt my pocket book at all.Most of us get paid by the day or he hunt wether we tag out or not,so i dont usually feel a whole lot of preasure to slaughter everything we tree.I tell my clients that i dont wanna kill females and usually they understand and they dont either.I would much rather hunt for a living than work a job that i hated.I was a contractor for years and i only had time to run dogs on the weekends.Now i get paid to do it 7 days a week.Anyways,I dont wanna piss anyone off.I just wanted to shed some light on what I do while guiding.Whatever guides you know that are Aholes,well im sorry to hear that and they ruin it for good guys.Dont hate on all of us though.

So do you Whore your self out when there is a house that needs plumbing? You offer a service just like we do.

What I have learned from this is that it is ok to kill whatever you tree as long as you are getting paid for it.

It is funny that someone who chooses to be known as Catslayer is telling us that he hates to see them killed.

I've walked away from half a dozen trophy tom lions in the past couple years with a tag in pocket, knowing full well that I'm probably the only person that would do that. Likewise, I've had dozens upon dozens upon dozens of people contact me wanting to hire me out to hunt a lion, and most of them were told we don't have the lions, they don't have the money and I don't have the time to pursue that interest. Good trophy tom lions are hard to come by in many places.

You have to be kidding me... " Catslayer" You... YOU are 100% responsible for killing any females.

When you book an elk hunt and it's getting down to the last few days does the cilent get to shoot a cow if that's all you see.

I guide... we don't shoot females. We don't have to help it.. that's the way it is. The clients know this when they book a hunt. Unreal.

Catslayer is my frickin screen name dude just like "houndhead".Does this mean you have a houndy lookin head on you?Maybe,but probly not.I do kill a few bobcats now and then and thats where I got the nickname from.Not sure how you got "houndhead" but whatever.I dont wanna get into a pissin match with anyone on here.When my boss books a hunt,I am resposible for getting his hunters a cat,thats my "job", and if I as the "guide" tell them that they cant shoot a cat that they want to take home,I lose my effin job.simple as that.I simply said that i dont like killin females or anything else i put in a tree.I like to run and tree shit just like the rest of the hound guys out there.When Im not guiding,I dont kill lions at all.Not for friends,not for family,or anyone at all.Chill out a bit guys.Im not a blood thirsty killer like you are thinkin.

If every person to ever carry a weapon to a Treed Lion thought that way...we would be in a better place.

I did not mean to start a pi$$in match with what I posted just that guides have a strong roll in what we belive in and if they belive in it strong enough no matter what they would not kill female lion and that goes for any one of us that have hounds!!!!!!!! ( I have nothing against guides they play a strong roll in conservation )

OH MY GOD, YOUR ALL LIKE A BUNCH OF KIDS. I Bet all you guys that claim you won't shoot a female have never killed a doe to fill your freezer either. Catslayer I wish i had your job, i wish i could hunt 24/7. I do enough of it but wish thats all i had to do full time. I do agree we should let them walk, I walked away from the tree plenty on BOBS. There are some bad apples but for the most part, Outfitters dont want to kill of there lively hood.

no I have not killed a doe or cow never even bought a tag haven't even bought a lion tag just persuit same with bear and I have four bob tags this year and haven't even taken the gun out of the truck I'd rather have the pics and the family time in the woods.

Holly shit comparing shootin females with killing cow's or does is the dumest. Cats don't run in herds and there are not litteraly millions of them Duh
