You guys are making me jealuos. Seems like I dont just get older, I get busier. Must not be livin right? And as for getting the wife or girlfriend to pay the bills, If I really knew how to do that I'd be hunting 5 days a week........

I don't know about getting the wife to pay the bills, sounds like a divorce in the making!! As for me, I have a welding company in the oil field. It's not as lucrative as it once was, but by paying off debt it costs less to live. I also don't have any employees to be tied to. I use ALL sub contractors. They run my insurance and papers, but contact customers themselves. It took me about 8 or 9 years to get to this point, but today I can say it was worth it. If you just look around you, there are opportunities. You also need to have vision and don't lose your focus.

I work 4 on 4 off, and am single. I have to work 10 hours on those days, any time. Only problem is I am on call, so I can't get the dogs out on the days I work, but I can get all the stuff done around the house. I hunt hard 2-3 out of my 4 days off, and then the 4th day off is spent going into town to do laundry, get groceries, supplies, etc, and maybe excercising the dogs. There are weeks though that I just can't get out becuase of training and court, or working extra days (like this week).

Spoken like a true houndsmen. lol Court has always been a set back of mine too.

I take the dogs out at least every other day. If its not for hunting they road at least 10 miles. Some times it means lack of sleep, but I'm fine with that. And being single helps, I figure if a girl wants to be around me more she can either tag along every now and then or find some guy that owns a little fliffy dog and likes to sit on the couch in his spair time. Besides, I only go out every other day, that still leaves half the days for her.

In wisconsin we have 2 months of training season so out of 60 days I hunt on the average of 48 days,about 6 days a week weather permiting.Another 2-3 weeks in kill season for bear.Dogs are down from deer season ,nov. through jan. 1st and are cat and coyote hunting as much as posable again weather permiting untill march 31.Thats when the leash law goes in to affect.Ive been really lucky and they dont realy trash.Once in a graet while.

when bear season is open here in tn we hunt bout every day till it closes
then find some where else to go hunting
