Not in Montana. Last Wisconsin cat hunters that came here thought they needed to snuff out 70 pound females, and kittens.

Yea, I know what you mean, out of state guys, come here, and kill bear I'm ashamed to put on my truck. Tore up roads, making a terrible name for bear hunters, in general, I helped build the cabin, which was raffled, and funded to fight the anti's for all of us to enjoy wi bear hunting. I guess it happens, I centainly hope you not putting all of us in this category, because I came out west, by myself, hunted, 2 weeks, treed, two females and 2 cubs and took a nice 160lb tom. All by myself, my bobcat dogs, never been there before, I met some really good folks, and some $$$$, I'm sure you would have the same opinion here. Van Johnson has came back here and hunted summers, stayed at our cabin, a few times, for a few weeks, treated him great, I'm always welcome out there, Perhaps you bump into van, you will learn something, not all folks from any state is the same. As far as I'm concerned, your trash talking.

Yes you are right I was trash talking. it's hard to handle when we are very strict on what cats we harvest. and then Out of staters come in and start smacking every cat they happen to put up a tree. Yes I am bitter about it, when we'll let that same female cat run another day. So yes I do think it's a slap in our faces when out of staters come here and start killing the cats we choose to let run for future days. I applaud you for the respect you have shown in Montana.

Thank you, sir, but I was in Colorado, but a sportsman is a sportsman, no matter where he hunts. I actually have a friend that has a big track of land in montana, wants me to come and lion hunt, I have no desire to kill another, to be honest. I understand you being sore, trying to leave seed and tracks for another day.

Yeah I don't know for sure the whole story I know 2 years ago a 70 pound female was shot, and this year yes there were drag marks, blood, and lion track with kitten tracks the size of a bobcat, with the quota never raising. So yeah appears they were transplanted.

You never got the whole story? They killed a bitch lion and her two kittens, checked em in the wrong HD, they stayed on that HD's quota. FWP was investigating it, but it doesn't sound like there was much more to find out, pretty sure those guys got pinched. Didn't think there was anybody hunting where it happened that wouldn't do the same if it was legal, good for you.

I think I would go to Utah and see Ike . Sounds like a Wisconsin hounds men aren't to welcome in Montana. I heard the same thing about a female and two kittens being killed in a closed area by some cump's out of Wisconsin and had them tagged in another district. Heard they got busted but don't even know if thats true.

Well, if these stories are true, caught red handed, then they should nail their butts to the full extent in my opinion. If they are from wi or any other state. Its not ethical, and I would be ashamed at looking at a stuffed female or kitts if its even legal. But thats me. Now with that being said, there was unethical things being done by local guides, that I couldnt sleep at night either, so lets make sure our own door step, is clean, before we knock others. LOL.

Why are you hidding behind Ike, If I decide to kill another lion, I will go to public land, and kill one. I dont need anyones, help, permission, or advice. And if I want to hunt montana, its legal, I will do that also. I dont get it? I'm sure of one thing, no one is telling me where I can hunt on public land, in fact, a guide tried, and I killed a nice tom under his nose, spanked him bad, hunting a lion, just doesnt do nothing for me, other then seeing the beautiful country. Guess, I've been fooling with these dam bear to long. The only thing that gives me any rush is a big bear on the ground, and training young dogs, AND if any of you western folks have the urge to run wi bear, you are good honest people, I will put you up for a week, and lets run some bear. LOL

Yea, those Arizona and Colorado guys were saying Utah to give ol' Ike a little shit was all; conversely, my comments back about the other states was all in fun and just giving it back to them for saying Utah. If anybody believes it's easy to come kill tom lions out from under the local boys I'll just say show me!

Most of the local boys have every water hauler, pumper, tanker driver, production hand, drilling hand, bit salesman, biologist, game warden, rancher, landowner, and who know the others already watching for a lion track in fresh snow. If a lion pokes it's head out around here on a fresh snow that thing is going down for the count.......

Hey Ike, no harm intended with you. the above phrases is what got me excited, I fail to see the humor, it looks like being bashed to me. I'm from wi, and I will not be catorgized, with someone which done that, if its true. I run a clean ship, and if they were busted, I will shame them back here with the hunting crews. It should not be tolorated. PM me their names. When I go hunting out of state, I like fellowship, with the local folks, I will hunt with them or against them. I prefer with them. A man can never have enough hunting friends. I agree, you need your best game, if your hunting against locals. Here or there. I respect that. I was stopped, cussed at, and told to leave. Because I was from Wi. Boy, even by myself, I was a threat??? to a cabelas guide? All that done, was piss me off, I hunted harder, was up earlier, and killed a big tom, right under his nose. It can be done, because I did it, with respect, to the local folks I met, I still keep in touch with, there is some good people, out there. But his welcome party, cost him a nice tom in his turf. To be very honest, I enjoyed the beauty, mountains, and my dogs, I would not have killed the lion, I could have cared less, his welcome party, got it killed, and His client went home, with nothing. I proved my point., If I wanted to be a jerk, I would tell the hundred guys that has asked me, where to hunt, in co. I have kept it tight lipped, in respect to the locals, and people that treated me good. Were all here to enjoy hounds, lets be respectful. and my invitation is open to you folks, if you want to try your luck at bear here.

I am glad to see wally world has not gone completely to the left. found a easter card in there today had to hunters and a couple bird dogs holing up the easter bunny eyes x'd out and it said thats a damn tuff rabbit never did turn loose of that basket.; much funnier on the card. like the one with the old lady trying to slip her bunny slippers on easter morning

one didn't fit and wouldn't quit squirming. I know I'm easily amused guess otherwise I wouldn't aspire to be a houndsman
