A friend of mine got one at 48# and one at 53# - weighed on the scales at UPS terminal. I doubt that I will ever see any bigger around here.

This one time at riggin' camp, IKE rigged a 68 pounder, the track was 6 days old, the old tom came out of a deep dark canyon, and topped every peak, ran under every ledge, but the WOLFPACK, man they ran it backwards and caught it. Man I wish I could do waht he can.
Out here there seemed to be alot of good sized tracks this year, but good luck catching those little buggers.

Biggest I ever hung on the scales was 36.6# probably the only cat I have hung on the scales in 10 years. Not that I've caught many that were bigger but I've caught 2 that I figure were in the 40+ range. One was the first cat I killed this year and I measured him at 51 in. from nose to base of tail. And he was heavy and thick, no doubt the biggest cat I've ever caught, I should have packed him out and weighed him but it's a lot easier just to pack the hide out.

The largest I've taken is on the tailgate, 40 pounds 10 oz. on a Rapala digital scale. Nice size, poor spots. The other is the largest I've seen, I'm in the pic, my best friend still owns the hide, never seen anything else close to him.

biggest i ever got was 37 lbs--- earlier that day i shot at one that got in a rockpile that was half again as big ------i know thats like seeing a bigfoot- lol

i saw a track this winter about size of a coffee cup and dragging his feet-- track as big as any ive ever seen - he was breaking the crust most places that my dogs did- -- what i wouldnt give to get that one or just get a look at him lol
this is from maine trappers website
.
The heaviest recorded bobcat was taken in Maine and weighed 76 pounds.
i dont know any details on that one- or even if its true -
does anybody know why a bobcat will drag his feet on just a skiff of snow ?
- ive only seen it a few times- first time i saw it ,i thought he was hurt or tottaly wore out
-- i know one thing for sure they can walk farther than i can when they are dragging feet

Can't figure that out Pete, every year I run into a couple that will drag their feet. I have to stop and get out of the truck to make sure its a cat, and not a yote or fox.

i don't know for sure but a cat hunter that sometimes hunts with me that has cat hunted close to forty years always says it means its a tom for sure kinda like a buck dragging his feet even in a skiff of snow like i said I'm not sure all i know is never caught a female that was dragging her feet
