'PR' means purple ribbon bred, which means the dog has a certain number of provable ancestors.
GRCH-grand champion
GRNITECH-grand nite champion
NITECH-nite champion
CH-champion
these are hunt and show degrees the dog can earn at sanctioned UKC events.
# of pups - the number of pups the dog has produced
Degrees- the number of degrees that dogs pups have earned

seriously sean, you have been in hounds less then a year ( according to what you told me) so what makes you an expert on hounds. i have been doing this for 20 plus years. you should really stop sitting on the computer and get in the woods and train those 10 or 20 pups you have by now. they wont learn anything in the kennel. thanks

klamathcathunter,
Why did you make a post like this?
I never claimed to be an expert. I use this forum for information exchange. I test what I think I know. Other people here let me know if I'm wrong and share things I don't know. You can find good information on here from houndsmen. I have a lot to learn so I try to get on here every chance I get. I'm retired. I hunt.
I don't pick fights. I've never met you. You have no idea how much time I spend in the woods. Only talked to you on the phone when you tried your best to sell me a dog that had been to over 5000 lion trees on a five state government lion project. Remember Banjo? You bought him for $2000 but would sell the "bobcat catching stud" to me for $1000 because he was too big of a dog for you and you wanted to help me. And I better act now before you change your mind. It was a nice touch calling me to listen to your dogs baying a "bobcat" on the ground. When I asked to see him in the woods under the tree, the deal was off. Dog sold. Now I see you were selling him again??? Did he sell or not? Did he not pass the trial? Or did you buy him back cause he was so good? Let me guess, the guy never came through with the money and you didn't call me because you decided to keep him. But then...
Sorry sir, you'll have to keep looking to find someone dumber than you. When you were rattling off all those names of people that knew you, I remembered a couple of them. And met them in the woods. The reason I asked to see the dog under a tree is because your references told me I had better do that before I buy anything from you.
How old are you? I'm not asking you because of your mature level of expression. That speaks for itself. I'm questioning your twenty plus years of experience. I remember you saying that you have been in and out of hounds over the years.
You are mistaken. I said I had less than one year experience bobcat hounding. I don't remember submitting my resume on my hound experience to you. I don't know how many years you should count, but I grew up with coon hunting in Northern Indiana. Added deer hounding down south. I had rabbit hounds for a while too. I even trained a couple blood trail hounds. I got into bear hounds when I moved out to Oregon, but they changed the law for bear just as I was getting my first pup treeing. So, I trained bird dogs for a while. I still have my first hound training book. I don't remember how old it is but the pages are yellow. That said, I'll admit, bird dogs are easier to train and you can even profit, but I just never loved bird hunting like I do listening to hounds.
We have five pups between two guys. And yes I like trying to work a pup into a hound. Its just my thing. Leave me too it. I do it to please me not you. Why bother me? I never tried to sell anything or bash anyone. I was even the only one to join your crappy website trying to support your efforts.
I'll tell you what... delete your attacking post and I'll delete mine. I'm not on here to point you out and I think you should gain something by thinking a bit here. I don't come on here for a bunch of BS and I don't think we do the hounding world any good displaying it.

I have two females with similar blood lines. I had a gal trade them to me for some hay this fall. Anyway I have had them on about six or so lions and they have been making trees, one trees well when she can see the lion. They have basically been just dumped out with my dogs, but the last two cats we ran were long days. One seems to be using her nose well and smelling tracks. she wasn't treeig when I got there thurs, but I beat on the tree and the cat pissed all over and she really started smelling and treed a bit. They are both ball mouthed and open on the track with the otherdogs. They are good looking hounds. I really wanted to get a pup out of one and my smokey river male, but ended up getting a pair of nice pups. I want 300 a piece, puppy prices, I think they will turn out fine. 509 671-2880 im in eastern wa.
