Nelson : About 30 years ago When you were broke down on I-95 I was thinking between Bangor and Newport I helped you get your flat tire fixed. You Gave me one of your hats witch I still have

About 10-12 years ago we talked at a hunting /sport show in I believe Springfield Mass.

About 2-3 years ago I spoke with you at a Hunting /Sport show in Columbus Ohio

So why would you make that comment ?

I do wish you well in your outfitting and Hounding Business

This is the exact reason I prefer to stay out of 3 way conversations

Good Hounding to you CASE CLOSED

Bob with all due respect, kind of chickshit way of doing things. A tribute to a great hound. Which you used, as an opportunity, for you to throw in your two cents, about your opinion of Nelson. Im sure anyone which guides and takes numbers like Nelson, there is going to be admirers. The right thing to do is call him and iron it out, and post an apology, if needed. Nelson is being a gentlemen, and trying to make it right, and you should to. Ron

Bob, why don't you just pm me your # and I'll pass it along to Nelson and he will call you on his dime and you two can get this misunderstanding settled in private, that way we can leave this post as it should be, honoring the memory of a great hound. If Nelson thinks he has been unjustly acused of something he (like many others) is not going to let it be.

Here's to Rough and to all good honest dogs that make this sport so special and deserve such a special place in out hearts.-- :beer

Bob Baldwin,if this was such a private matter YOU should have left it in the closet. Now you get called on it and you get in a fizz. This started about a dog NOT the dog's owner.

I THINK IT IS WONDERFUL TO RECOGNIZE ROUGH. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN ANYONE'S MIND WHO FOLLOWED HIM THAT HE WAS TOP NOTCH. HE HAD THE UN CANNY ABILITY TO COME UP WITH THE GAME. IT MIGHT BE A COLD TRACK THAT OTHERS WHERE HAVING TROUBLE GETTING OUT OR A CAT THAT HAD GIVEN THEM THE SLIP. GIVE ROUGH A LITTLE TIME, LISTEN FOR HIS BARK AND THEN START WALKING. HE WOULD NOT DISAPOINT YOU. ROUGH WAS TOUGH, SMART AND UP FRONT DAY AFTER DAY.

TO UNDERSTANDROUGH YOU NEED TO LOOK BACK TO WHERE HE CAME FROM. HE WAS OUT OF ANNIE AND MUSKET. THESE TWO DOGS HAD THEIR OWN BEAR TREED IN THE DEAD WATER I BELIEVE WHEN THEY WHERE 13 MONTHS OLD. THEY SOUNDED REALLY GOOD UP ON THE HILL WHEN NELSON, SONNY WADE, MYSELF AND GROUP OF HUNTERS WENT IN FOR THE HARVEST. THE BOTTOM LINE , THESE TWO DOGS GREW A WELL DESEREVED REPUTATI0N. ALONE, TOGEATHER, IN A HURICANE OR ON DRY GOING THESE TWO MADE IT HAPPEN. THEY MADE EVERYONE LOOK GOOD TIME AFTER TIME. MANY OF TODAYS PACKS CAN BE TRACED TO THESE TWO HOUNDS AND THEIR PRODGENY, OURS INCLUDED.

NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT NELSON BEING THE CAPEABLE HUNTER THAT HE IS.

I AM PERSONALLY THANKFUL FOR THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFORDED TO ME AND MY SONS. "'IT HAS BEEN A HELL OF A RUN AND IT AIN'T OVER YET."

Great dog, I personally know what it takes to have a dog on over 100 bobcats in Maine. It takes one hell of a hound and a good man to back him. Great job Nelson and Rough. Dogs of that caliber only come along once in a lifetime for most men with hounds. he will be missed.

I think you made it everyone's business when you posted your opinion on Nelson instead of sticking with the theme of this post and paying tribute to a fine hound.
