I had a decent female do this only once, i tied her back and never let her touch a couple kills, 3rd kill i let her loose, she moaned at one dog and i laid her out, havent had a problem since and shes been on alot of kills, if it keeps up though i would reccommend culling, you dont need that shit being passed on throughout your pack, especially if your running some up and comers or plan to hunt with guys in different areas, it sucks but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Worst part about some cull jumping onto other dogs because he is possessive over game is that it will set back pups and young dogs you are trying to start. Listen to the guys previously and ruin his day every time he tries anything. If he doesn't get the point you aren't sending the message strongly enough. I get serious with a dog even it it gives the others an evil stare over the game or if I see a lip lifted, because they are thinking about starting it.

I wouldn't use a shock collar in this situation, in my experience sometimes that will prod the dog into jumping on another. Also there needs to be no confusion in the dogs mind that I am the one who finds their behavoir unacceptable.

I had one nuetered male dog that just couldn't help himself. Didn't take him long until he would just move off and watch the other dogs over a piece of game. I guess he figured since he couldn't restrain such behavoir, the consequences were not worth it to him.

I do believe this tendancy is very much hereditary.

if they are jumping on another dog when your shocking them your not using enough juice or your shocker is a piece of crap. the whole idea behind a shocker is to correct their behavior while their in the act.dogs are alot like kids in the fact that they will do some stupid stuff when there is no authority figure present no matter what the consequences later.these have been my exsperiences . if you can make a hound think you have control of him while your not there it is only common sense.

Although I really like my tritronics for certain corrections, I do not think it is the magic wand, and there is no need for it when you are standing right there amongst them.
Also, in cases like this applying the tritronics is like being put in a "timeout" (to use your analogy) compared to the real correction that needs to take place.

thats why i posted doing it while your not amongst them you can set up situations where it is controlled you can watch a dog without them knowing at home.,and no i dont think it is a magic wand it is a tool. im all for hands on if thats the situation you have to deal with in the moment.my neighbor has a black ntan that only behaves and listens when she is wearing the shock collar he puts it off and on all the time this is a perfect example of a failure in the use of a shock collar . you have to be smarter than the dog. electricity is a heak of alot more punishment than a timeout.better than a beating in my opinion. the shocking collar is the best tool to come along in my opinion ,and probably most houndmen. your not always going to be there is the point im trying to make. of course you can control a situation while your standing there . we will definately never agree on this so lets leave it at that.
