If I could pick anywhere it would be Alaska nothing above about Kenai. I know About all I could run would be Bear but the trapping and fishing would make up for the loss of the rest.

Or maybe Alaska in the summer and fall and Mexico in the spring and winter. But I would have to take one of them Mexican mule jobs to pay for that.

My dad and step-mom just got back from visiting family in Alaska. 65$ for 4 people to eat breakfast. Bout' 5$ for a loaf of bread. I have been trying to just get an interview from an Alaskan employer for the last 4 years. Construction Management is my strong suit($$$), and I can't even get an email from a refinery looking for a Construction Coordinator. This one particular job has been posted and reposted numerous times, and is like reading my resume, but I can't even get a phone call. Go figure. Several of my KBR contractors were from Minnesota. They laugh that wolves are illegal to harm but you cross the border into Canada and it's like shooting a rabbit. Until recently I never entertained the idea of moving to Canada because I thought it would be next to impossible and probably is. As far as I know I would need to land a job there and the process to follow isn't as bad as just trying to immigrate for the hell of it. Any Canadians on here feel free to jump in at this point and set the record straight. All I know is, if I can get in front of someone who can hire, I can land a good job. But if Alaska is next to impossible to get a phone interview, I can bet Canada is out of the question, short of loading the Dodge Ram and heading north. That doesn't scare me either, but nowadays we have the fine folks in Human Resources, so the days of bumping into the Plant Manager and saying " This is who I am" are pretty much over. Anybody else want a place on this soapbox???

I wonder if you would beable to hunt in Canada without a Guide being your from the states? I thought you had to use a guide if your not canadian?

I don't know. I would have to look in to that.

You will need a guide in BC. In Alberta, a friend can sign an affidavit and you can hunt with him.

BC is a great place and has lots of game. I also live in Texas and often thought of moving some where up north.
I like the freedom we have here in Texas compared to some of the northern state and I always feel funny wearing those funny orange jackets when I am hunting with my friends in the Northwest and always asking about the hunting season since we can hunt year round here.
I have not been to Alaska but I have been just about every where else and BC ranks at the top.

You are able to hunt here in Ontario, but you will need to go through an outfitter. The cost ranges from $800.00 to $1500, on average. You are able to use your own hounds also. No limit of dogs aloud to dump on the game. If i`m correct there are some states that only let you run a limit of hounds, right? I will take our canadian taxes.. We have great health care, and no earth quakes, no hurricanes, no flooding, no tornado`s ect.

I think you have to be a Canadian citizen in order to work in Canada or you have to have the business or company you work for send in a form showing some kind of temporary status. Canadians: Is that correct?

a canadian company would have to apply for your work visa, or you would have to immagrate to canada. Which would require money, investments, or starting a company with a certain amount of money.You have to reside in BC for 6 months before you could get a hunting lisence.

I believe that anyone that graduates from a Canadian university has one year to find a job and can then stay in Canada. I'm not sure of the status they would have or details but that would be an in. OOOOOOOOR............ arrive on a raft
